After seeing the video of the meowing boy’s choir, I was inspired to draw some sassy choir boys?? Like wow this is such a great story idea. Then I realized that was already the plot to Les Choristes… (which is one of my favorite films btw).
Whatever, CAN’T MESS WITH THESE PUNKS.

Possibly doing a short comic on these sad girls for my drawing class final?? I definitely want to do a comic for my final but I just can’t decide on what to do it about.

"That same spirit is what makes me paint and makes your friend bake. But we each need to find our own inspiration, Kiki. Sometimes it’s not easy."
For Ghibli Jam 2014! Kiki’s Delivery Service means so much to me, Ursula is the best!

"Ate ice cream in a desert dream…"
Lemonade by CocoRosie has been stuck in my head for awhile now, and this line in the lyrics just really stood out to me. Mostly because it reminded me of a dream I had recently about being in a desert in Arizona, and seeing a full night sky with millions of stars and a lunar eclipse.
I just felt really compelled to illustrate it, so here’s a speed paint of a vague desert landscape haha ;; Mm ice cream…

♥♥ HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY! ♥♥
Trying out FireAlpaca, pretty cool but I think I’ll probably just stick with Photoshop.

A farmer’s market trip? A snowstorm hit the East Coast last night and as much as I love snow, I find myself dreaming of sunnier days…
((also I would love a floral shoulder blouse like that yes please))

Oyasumi Punpun is over, what?!! The ending was nice I guess, bittersweet but nothing surprising. It was satisfactory.
Though honestly, Seki and Shimizu made the manga for me;;; Once I read the line that Shimizu had become a nurse, I couldn’t resist drawing them ahahaha.

Prep sketches for my current drawing 2 project, “in the style of” Julie Mehretu, whom I really admire! I love how she is able to create a sense of three-dimensional space using these meticulously planned perspective grids, architectural abstract forms, and gestural mark making. She’s really fantastic, I’m excited to start working on this.

Sketch dump, including a quick witchsona. I was just mostly inspired by the crystals on this mushroom, and of course auroras and arctic animals and hedgehogs, yes I would most definitely have a hedgehog familiar. I wish I had more time to design a more well thought-out witchsona because I reeeally love witches but well, that’s life.
Plus I’m going to the aquarium tomorrow woo!!!!

fishingforpeppers asked: Hey dude, just saw your Elements final book come across my dash, and knew you must have been a MICA student! I was checking through your illustrations, and wow! Fantastic work! Looking forward to seeing more, and welcome(ish, I know it's already been a semester) to MICA!
OOHHMYGOD yes I am a MICA student! Wow, thank you so much, I’m so surprised that you saw it! Thank you for the welcome and I wish you luck with your classes and everything!

Went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium with my mom yesterday! I wish I could have done more sketches at the aquarium, but it was very crowded and it seemed kind of awkward and rude to just sit in front of tanks and just sketch haha. I still drew the top spread and the right page of the second at the aquarium, though quickly and messily ;; I did color in the water for the kelp forest tank later at home though, along with the other sketches on the left page.
Also here are some pictures because I took many pictures!! Marine life is truly amazing!
